Today, August 7,2012, my beloved country, Philippines, is in deep state of crisis. Awhile ago when we woke up, I got the news that our classes are suspended. I got back to sleep thinking that everything will be alright. After a few hours of nonstop raining, I never thought this would be the outcome. Deep floods all over the country are being reported on the news. Some floods are on knee level, some are waist level. Other areas are experiencing neck-level floods and worst, floods in other areas are higher than a real human. Taking into account that it is only a rain. Yes, a rain. Not a typhoon, but a normal rain.
Come to think of it, it's our midterm week and this what happened. It ruined the whole week's schedule, but that's not what this is all about. It's all about the rain, the flood, the whole country, and the citizens that are certainly affected! While studying, I can't help myself but to check on the news about the latest updates. Everytime I watch, things are just getting worse rather than getting better. It loses my concentration from studying seeing and knowing that others are not safe and struggling to save their things and their lives. I stopped from studying and offered a little of my time to talk to the Almighty creator. I know that prayer is very powerful and I believe that once in a while, everything will be over.
The state our country is experiencing right now is almost like what happened in the past few years with the Typhoon Ondoy. The only difference is that Ondoy is a typhoon and this rain is just a NORMAL RAIN. Unbelievable, it is.
So, here I an, sitting in front of my laptop, telling a story about what happened for the whole day here in our country. Obviously, I am not helping. I feel sorry for myself. Even though I really wanted to get up and start lending both of my hands to help my fellow countrymen, I am doing nothing. I feel so sad and terrible about myself. Poor me. Good thing there is my school. They are having a program wherein they will collect donations from the students to be given to the victims. I will gladly volunteer if time will allow me. If not, then I will donate some things for the victims.
So, yea. Please!! Just please!! Help Philippines! A little prayer from all of you would really be a big help.
